'Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc' to Debut in September 2025

This weekend at AnimeJapan 2025, an official release date for Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc was announced by animation studio MAPPA for Japanese theaters. On September 19, fans in japan will be the first of global audiences to see the feature-length debut of the hit anime seiries. Along with the announcement the show's creators revealed 12 character visuals with the new designs for the entire cast.According to Crunchyroll, Tatsuya Yoshihara, director of episode four and ten of season one is at the helm of the film, with Hiroshi Seko returning to write the script, and Kazutaka Sugiyama as Character Designer. The news release also includes Souta Yamazaki, the aSub Character Designer; Sota Shigetsugu the Action Animation Director; and Riki Matsuura, the Look Back director Kiyotaka Oshiyama.The series based on the original manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto arrived on Crunchyroll in 2022. In a summary from Crunchyroll the general plot is expounded on: "Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita." "One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as "Chainsaw Man" — a man with a devil's heart," the summary continues. Picking up where season one ended, the movie will center on Denji's joining of Special Division 4’s devil hunters and his encounter with Reze, a café worker.
