Marvel Worried About Doomsday And Spider-Man 4 Casting Rumors | Barside Buzz

According to new Barside Buzz, Marvel are worried about Avengers: Doomsday/Secret Wars, plus some Spider-Man 4 casting rumors. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon.

Daniel says he’s heard that the recent Russos movie The Electric State, being not well loved, has Marvel boss Kevin Feige worried. At this stage, they must push ahead with this plan, but he says Feige is keeping a closer eye on these movies than he has done with the Russos in the past.

I’m not sure I buy this one. Just because the Russos, have some misses, does not mean they’ve lost the skills that saw them produce hit after hit for Marvel. Maybe that’s just where the sibling directors work best? I guess we will find out in just over a year’s time when Doomsday releases in May, 2026.

As for Spider-Man 4, Daniel says this of the recently cast Sadie Sink.

‘Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man 4 will be a sharp and free-Spirited woman who is Strong-willed, intelligent, and not easily intimidated, and will also have a mysterious past. Still unknown what her character name is though.’ 

Though as you can see in the related section below another insider Jeff Sneider says she is playing Mary Jane.

In addition from Daniel on casting,

‘Marvel are looking to cast a male in his early 20s who’s character has been described as a “resourceful young man” for Spider-Man 4. [Fans are speculating that the role might be for Harry Osborn.]’

‘Marvel Studios is reportedly casting 2 new roles for ‘Spider-Man 4’. Male, 30s-50s, any ethnicity, described as a “no-nonsense authority figure who sees the world in black and white. Loyal, determined, and willing to cross lines to maintain order.’

‘Female, 30s-50s, any ethnicity. A powerful and imposing figure. Seeking an actress with strong and commanding screen presence and depth.’ [Villain role.]

‘Spider-Man 4 will be loosely based on the 2011 and 2015 Spider-Island.’

Not a story I’m familiar with as as I was a comic book kid in the 70’s, 80’s 90’s, but this could work in between Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Folk’s we’ve had a lot of plot rumors for this film, and we know the story has changed numerous times. I will however say that when it comes to casting calls for Sony/Marvel movies, Daniel is usually very spot on. I think those are genuine casting calls.
