Universal Pictures’ “Jurassic World Rebirth” has come in at #1 of the most anticipated films of the Summer according to users of digital ticketing outlet Fandango.

The Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey-led film, the seventh overall mainline entry in the “Jurassic Park” franchise and a semi-reboot of the property, was voted the most anticipated by more than 5,000 people who had bought at least one ticket to a movie theater showing since January 2024.

The study itself was conducted in December 2024 but additional information and results were obtained via a supplemental survey of more than 3,000 moviegoers conducted last month.

The rest of the Top 10 films were in order: “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” “Superman,” “Thunderbolts*,” “From The World of John Wick: Ballerina,” “28 Years Later;,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Lilo & Stitch” and “Freakier Friday”.

80% of respondents were 18-54. 51% were male, 47% female, and 2% non-binary. 45% were Caucasian; 42% Latinx/Hispanic; 18% Black/African American; 5% Asian/Pacific Islander; and 2% other.

77% of respondents say they attended at least one PLF showing this past year, up 6% from the prior year. 88% of moviegoers expect to see more movies this year. The survey comes just days before CinemaCon gets underway in Las Vegas.
