PS5 System Update for March 2025 Out Now

Sony has rolled out PS5 system software update version 25.02-11.00.00 for March 2025, the patch notes for which reveal further improvements for Activities, new parental control settings, and a general system stability update. The firmware is available now in some regions, and its rollout may be staggered like previous versions.

PS5 system update 25.02-11.00.00 patch notes (March 24/25, 2025)

Complete patch notes are as follows:

• We’ve made it simpler to view details about activities.
  • Activity details are now fully displayed on cards.
  • Potential spoilers will still be hidden.
• Unicode 16.0 emojis are now supported. You can use them in your messages.
• When you set the parental controls’ restriction level to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will now default to Restrict. If you have previously set the level to Late Teens or Older, your previous settings will not be affected and it will be shown as Customize.
• We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
• We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.

As a reminder, Activity Cards no longer include the Resume Activity feature, which Sony quietly pulled sometime last year.

Sony has also rolled out a new PS4 update, which we’ll cover separately. No surprise PS3 updates this time, however.
