The Strangers – Chapter 2 Has a Theatrical Release Date

The reboot trilogy of The Strangers was ambitious and met with great anticipation.

All three films were thought to be released in the same year since they were produced consecutively to save time and money. Unlike many franchises, there wouldn’t be a wait between sequels that are extended significantly, like one to three years.

And then The Strangers – Chapter 1 came into theaters in May 2024 with mixed reviews and a slightly overperforming box office draw. Nonetheless, it threw a monkey wrench into the studio’s plans to immediately release the films back-to-back.

Regardless, die-hard fans still clamor for the next chapter of this horror franchise.

Wait no more.

Lead actress Madelaine Petsch took to Instagram to announce that The Strangers – Chapter 2 will have a new release date a month before Halloween.

With a new photo of Petsch from the movie (see above article), she wrote, “Strangers chapter 2. Only in theaters 9/26.”

The film also stars Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath. Renny Harlin directed it from the screenplay by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland.

In a follow-up press release, Petsch said, “I promise that we’re making The Strangers—Chapter 2 as terrifying as possible, and I can’t wait to show you on September 26.”

The producing partners of Courtney Solomon and Mark Canton continued, “Like Strangers fans everywhere, we’re thrilled for Chapter 2 – it’s the kind of film that’ll have audiences watching through their fingers. Bringing it to theaters this Halloween season feels perfect, and we can’t wait for everyone to see where the story goes next.”
