PS5 and PS4 users can now check their PSN account moderation history online, including any ban and suspension activity. Players would be forgiven for not knowing that PlayStation has a new “My Account Support Portal” set up for the task because Sony didn’t exactly talk about it until this morning.
How to check your PSN account ban/suspension and moderation history
In a blog post announcing a new PlayStation messaging feature designed to combat offensive content on PSN, Sony revealed that it rolled out a new portal to allow users to view their account status as well as history of moderation actions taken against them over the last six months.
According to Sony, this centralized portal allows PSN users to “view their moderation history and account status at any time, offering greater transparency and empowering players to stay informed about their account activity.”
I ran a quick check on my account, but since I don’t have any history of violations, I can’t tell how detailed this portal is for those who have had strikes issued against their accounts. That said, I’m sure most people who find themselves banned or suspended already know what prompted Sony to take action against them.
Still, it’s a nice feature to have access to considering the amount of posts I see from users who’ve been knocked off the network claiming that they have no idea why.
