PS5, PS Portal Earbuds Quietly Updated With Welcome Improvements

Generally, the Pulse Explore Earbuds for PS5, and PS Portal are deemed a decent accessory for PlayStation players. However, there are some criticisms that keep it from being truly great. However, a new update seems to have fixed one of its most glaring issues inching it closer to being a solid accessory for all users of Sony’s gaming platform.

One issue the Pulse Explore Earbuds had pertained to the accessory disconnecting. Specifically, players would have to reconnect the earbuds to the PS5 or PS Portal multiple times a day. Sometimes, this would even happen during gameplay, which is definitely not ideal. However, according to a redditor on the PlayStation Portal subreddit, that issue is now fixed.

“It connects straight away now both on the portal and the PS5,” wrote redditor AndyD89 explaining the fix. “I don’t remove the dongle anymore on the console, just press the connect button on the earbuds and they’ll be found immediately. I’ve been playing on the PS5 for the past 2 days and not a single time they have been disconnected, previously was about 2/3 times a day.”

Some players have reported that the update hasn’t quite fixed the disconnecting issue entirely. However, most players seem to be experience a vast improvement after the update. Hopefully, this is true for most Pulse Explore Earbuds users.

The Pulse Explore Earbuds for the PS5 and PS Portal launched back in late 2023. It currently cost $199.99 on PlayStation Direct, and other retailers. At launch, there were some criticism regarding the issue described above, as well as its poor battery life, and lack of noise isolation. However, it is lauded for its superb sound, bluetooth functionality, and comfortability making it a solid, but expensive choice for PlayStation gamers.
