Here’s my Wheel of Time S3E2 review folks after watching it today, and it’s a bit of a moving episode if I’m honest, but not bad. Reminders I’m staying both SPOILER FREE and Book SPOILERS free in these reviews.
Let’s start with the fact I loved the opening episode and gave it an A. You can find my review for Episode 1 in the related section below. This is not as good an episode, but it’s one of those you need in a TV series at times, which is where people move towards where they all need to be, without getting too deep into things. That’s where I peg Episode 2 of Season 3.
Our story point of views shift into three different paths, Rand, Moiraine, Egwene and Aviendha off to the Aiel Waste. Perrin, Loial, Alanna, Bain and Chiad are all heading to the Two Rivers, and the rest remain in the white tower. Though, that won’t be for long.
We are also introduced to many new characters for Season 2. Elayne’s family, the Andor Royal family chief amongst these. However, I was most excited by the Aiel who are introduced, even if only briefly.

Gaebril, the Prince consort…. Things are different from the book. However, I really like where they are going with him, armed with a little book knowledge. Galad and Gawyn’s scenes were fun with all the Aes Sedai drooling over them. Yet, again, my book knowledge allows me to know this is a big set up for a scene to come.
Favourite scene of the episode was the chat between Matt and Siuan. It’s lifted directly from the books. Though it happens in a different part of the story, I think it suited the moment they decided to drop it in here.
Not a massive amount of drama or action here, especially compared to that packed, fast paced opener. However, this moving episode sets us up for a better Episode 3 to come. Episode 2 does what it needs to do after Episode 1, give us time to breathe and send everyone off into their own stories.
GRADE: B
Good, but not brilliant, and not on the same level as the episodes that sandwich it either side. Acted well, the cast continue to have better chemistry this season and everything still looks better than what came before.
That’s my Wheel of Time S3E2 review folks, As always, leave me your own thoughts on S3E2 or on what you’ve thought of Wheel of Time Season 3 so far.
