Aeroporti di Roma is implementing cutting-edge technology from Be My Eyes to further enhance accessibility for blind and low-vision passengers, as it aims to provide an inclusive, seamless customer experience.
Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has partnered with Be My Eyes, a company that connects people who are blind or have low vision with sighted volunteers and companies through live video and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Under the collaboration, Be My Eyes will provide its cutting-edge accessibility technology to ADR’s blind and low-vision passengers, ensuring a more inclusive and seamless travel experience.
“We take great pride in being a leader in accessibility and innovation,” said Marina Maschio, Managing Director, ADR Assistance. “Partnering with Be My Eyes allows us to further enhance the experience for our blind and visually-impaired passengers, ensuring they receive the same level of service and care that every traveller deserves at Fiumicino and Ciampino airports.”
ADR is committed to innovation and accessibility as core pillars of its mission. To provide hyper-personalised travel experiences, the airport is integrating Be My Eyes’ Service Connect platform into its accessibility services. Service Connect enables blind and low-vision travellers to access real-time assistance using a combination of advanced AI and dedicated service agents through the Be My Eyes app. Whether navigating the terminal, accessing flight information, or locating services, passengers can now receive immediate, tailored support at the touch of a button.
“Travel should be accessible to everyone, and our partnership with Aeroporti di Roma brings us closer to that goal,” said Mike Buckley, CEO, Be My Eyes. “By integrating AI-powered tools and human support, we’re ensuring blind and low-vision travellers can navigate the airport with greater ease and confidence.”
The integration of Be My Eyes marks a continued commitment to making global travel more inclusive. With this initiative, Be My Eyes and ADR aim to set a new standard for accessibility in aviation, reinforcing passenger experience innovation.
