Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Apple TV+ has announced that production on the second season of the series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” has wrapped. An official photo from the set has been posted showing actors Ren Watabe, Takehiro Hira, Kiersey Clemons, and Anna Sawai at work on set. The new run will see “Prey” star Amber Midthunder join the cast.
The first season premiered in November 2023 and wrapped its run early in 2024 with a renewal handed out in April. Production on the second season began late last year. Story details on the new season, which will likely air in 2026, are under wraps. [Source: Apple]
House of David
Amazon Prime Video has renewed its new Biblical drama “House of David” for a second season, the order coming several weeks before the show’s first season finale on April 3rd. The new season will chart the aftermath of the battle between David and Goliath.
The series tells the story of David (Michael Iskander) and his rise to become a powerful and celebrated king of Israel. Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn are creators, writers and executive producers of the show which Amazon claims 22 million people worldwide watched in the 17 days after the show premiered. [Source: THR]
Tulsa King
Paramount+ has officially announced a third season renewal for the next installment of the Sylvester Stallone-led crime drama series “Tulsa King” after the second season premiere became the streamer’s most-watched global premiere to date.
Created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, the third season will see executive producer Dave Erickson (“Mayor of Kingstown”) take over as the new showrunner. Further details about the plot and characters are currently under wraps. [Source: THR]
The Simpsons
Disney+ has launched a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week dedicated stream of all 35 completed seasons of the iconic animated series The Simpsons. All 767 episodes have been programmed to run on the stream in chronological order, taking approximately 300 continuous hours to complete each full cycle. [Source: Disney]
Sirens
Netflix has set a May 22nd premiere date for its female-driven, dark comedy five-episode limited series “Sirens” which hails from Emmy-nominated writer and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler (“Maid”). The series unfolds over a weekend at a lavish beach estate.
Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton star in this adaptation of Metzler’s play “Elemeno Pea” which centers on Devon, who thinks her sister Simone has a really creepy relationship with her new boss and enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell and chooses to intervene.
