Smerz announce new LP ‘Big city life,’ share “You got time and I got money”

Norwegian duo Smerz have announced a new album, Big city life, due out on May 23 via Escho. It’s their first release for the Copenhagen label since their 2016 EP Okey, and about it, Henriette and Catharina say, “Some of the songs are pieces of advice to ourselves. Some are doorways into dreams. Some songs are secret wishes. Some are written for someone who is not here. And some are predictions.” See the cover art and tracklist below.

The album includes their February single “A Thousand Lies,” and they’ve shared a second single, “You got time and I got money,” which adds lush orchestration to their hypnotic sound. “I wrote the lyrics when I got my first real grown-up job and was in love at the same time,” Catharina says.
