Julia Holter, L’Rain, Armand Hammer, Chanel Beads & more playing “Picture a Wave” in Brooklyn

Julia Holter, L’Rain, Armand Hammer, and Chanel Beads are among the artists playing “Picture a Wave.” The three-part series, which is described as “an exploration in sound and light,” happens at Brooklyn’s 99 Scott over three consecutive Fridays – April 4, April 11, and April 18. Night 1 has Julia Holter, Discovery Zone, and Niecy Blues; night 2 has L’Rain, Armand Hammer, and Ohyung; and night 3 has Chanel Beads, Safe Mind, Huerco S, Oli XL, and Eve Swords of Kassie Krut.

Julia Holter and Chanel Beads both released albums last year, Something in the Room She Moves and Your Day Will Come, respectively, and L’Rain’s most recent album was 2023’s I Killed Your Dog. Armand Hammer also released an album in 2024, the vinyl-only, tour-only BLK LBL, the follow-up to 2023’s excellent We Buy Diabetic Test Strips.
