PS Plus Premium members have been left a tad disappointed as three highly-anticipated PS1 classics came without trophies. March 2025’s Extra and Premium catalog refresh went live yesterday, bringing with it the original Armored Core trilogy to the PS5 and PS4. But unfortunately, there’s no sign of trophies or even a free upgrade for existing Armored Core owners.
Not all hope lost as PS Plus classics continue to receive trophy patches
Armored Core, Armored Core: Project Phantasma, and Armored Core: Master of Arena all released yesterday as both PS Plus Premium freebies and stand-alone games for $9.99 each. None of them have trophies at this time.
However, Sony has been working diligently with third-party partners to bring trophies to classic titles, and many of them have already been patched retroactively. So, while we have no confirmation that trophies are coming, there’s at least a glimmer of hope here.
Some players have also expressed disappointment that the original Armored Core isn’t offered as a free upgrade to existing owners, like other classics have in the past. The game was re-released back in 2015 for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita in the U.S., so there are plenty of existing owners.
While Europe did get the original Armored Core game, this is the first time Project Phantasma and Master of Arena have released in the region.
