Strange Darling distributor Magenta Light Studios is developing a series adaptation of Susan McCauley’s Ghost Hunters novels, Deadline reports.
The young adult horror-adventure books follow teen psychic Alex and his investigator friends in a series of paranormal mysteries.
There are four novel: 2020’s Ghost Hunters: Bones in the Wall, 2021’s Ghost Hunters: Pirates’ Curse, 2021’s Ghost Hunters: Spirit Fire and 2022’s Ghost Hunters: Swamp Witch.
The project came as part of a first-look deal with producer Yasmine Golchan, who previously worked with Magenta Light founder Bob Yari on 2006’s The Painted Veil.
“We’re happy to be reteaming with Yasmine on such an exciting series and at the opportunity to bring Ghost Hunters to life,” Yari told Deadline. “Yasmine is a skilled and creative producer, and we look forward to partnering on many projects to come.”
“Bob and I have enjoyed a wonderful artistic collaboration for many years,” added Golchan. “I’m delighted to continue working with him and the entire Magenta Light Studios team in bringing this series to screen.”
Yari’s producing credits also include Crash, The Illusionist, and “Yellowstone.”
