Moana 2 | Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda on Her Voice Acting Debut as Simea

Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda already started her career by catching the giant wave in the animated film Moana 2.

As a referral, she got the voicing acting gig for the anticipated sequel after auditioning for Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch. With her Hawaiian background, she scored the coveted role in the animated film as Moana’s little sister.

It’s been eight years since 2016’s Moana, which returned some of the original voice cast, including Auli’li Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, along with Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jemaine Clement, Nicole Scherzinger, and Alan Tudyk. New voice cast members included Hualalai Chung as Moni, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, and Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea.

Moana 2 reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

The new film is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, with music from Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’I, and Mark Mancina.

Moana 2 is the acting debut of Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda.

Disney’s Moana 2 is now streaming on Disney+, available digitally through Prime Video and Apple TV, and also now physically on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD. The studio reported that since its debut, it received over 27.3 million views globally in the first five days on the streaming platform—the most since Encanto.
