Two additional tracks have been released from the Neil Young tribute album Heart of Gold ahead of its April 25 arrival, in the form of Eddie Vedder‘s live version of “The Needle and the Damage Done” and Stephen Marley’s take on “Old Man.”
The collection was previewed last month by Courtney Barnett’s cover of “Lotta Love” and Chris Pierce’s rendition of “Southern Man.” It also features recordings by Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile, Mumford & Sons, Sharon Van Etten and the Lumineers.

Heart of Gold will be released by Cinema Music Group and Killphonic Records. All proceeds will benefit the Bridge School, which Young’s late wife Pegi co-founded in the Bay Area to aid children with severe speech and physical disabilities.
A second volume of Heart of Gold will be announced shortly.
In related news, Young has scrapped plans for a free concert in Ukraine, which was to be part of his upcoming tour with the Chrome Hearts. “We had a good venue, close to a shelter, but the changing situation on the ground was too much,” he said on his website. “I could not in good conscience take my crew and instruments into that area. My apologies to all. Ukraine is a great country with a good leader. Slava Ukraini.”
A new Young/Chrome Hearts album is expected this spring. The artist’s 2023 solo tour is also the subject of the film Coastal and a companion soundtrack, which arrive April 17 and 18, respectively.
