Suntory Global Spirits returns as Gold Partner sponsor for 2025 APTRA India Conference

Suntory Global Spirits has announced its Gold Partner sponsorship for the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) India Conference. The event is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from 7-9 April and follows the spirits company’s sponsorship of the inaugural APTRA conference held in Delhi last March.

The renewed sponsorship highlights Suntory Global Spirits’ strategic focus on the Asia Pacific region and Indian travellers, reflecting the group’s confidence in the region’s growth potential. Liquor remains a key category in travel retail across Asia Pacific, driven by consumer demand for premium and international brands, the company said.

According to Suntory Global Spirits, its portfolio is positioned to capture opportunities within Indian travel retail, where Scotch whiskies dominate the spirits category.

Furthermore, the increasing popularity of Japanese whisky in the region presents a compelling growth avenue and an opportunity for The House of Suntory’s premium Japanese whisky portfolio, including the Toki expression, which become a sales driver throughout 2024.

“We are delighted to once again sponsor APTRA’s India Conference,” noted Suntory Global Spirits Managing Director Global Travel Retail Ashish Gandham. “India represents a pivotal opportunity for our travel retail business, and we are investing in the market to accelerate growth and build on the solid foundations we have already established.

“Through strategic partnerships with our customers and a focus on immersive branding touchpoints at airports, Suntory Global Spirits aims to deliver premium products and experiences tailored to the diverse needs of Indian consumers.

“The increasing sophistication of travelling shoppers, coupled with the ongoing expansion of the premium spirits category, positions India as a key market for our long-term growth.” ✈
