Rejoice! Lost Film 'Coyote vs. Acme' Is Being Saved

Last year, one of the biggest stories we followed was the indefinite shelving and possible deletion of the Warner Bros movie, Coyote vs. Acme. The long and short of it was that this finished movie was testing well, and to save a few bucks, the studio was pondering deleting it, instead of releasing it, to take a tax write-off. Well, when it got shelved, I believe they were allowed to take the write-off, but thankfully, the film was not deleted. Now, Ketchup Entertainment, the people behind another Looney Tunes release, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, has stepped in to purchase the movie. The sale is happening for a reported $50 million. This is after the studio initially tried to sell the movie for around $70 million to buyers. While the sale is ongoing, you can assume that once it goes through, they will greenlight the movie for theatrical release in 2026. Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor headline a film where Wile E. Coyote sues Acme for product failure. Forte plays his lawyer, facing off against Cena's powerful former boss, while a growing friendship with Wile E. drives their legal battle. Here's hoping it finds an energized audience excited to see it at their local theaters. I know I'll be there.
