Bacardi unveils limited-edition 24 Year Old single malt from Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask Series
The limited-edition whisky is expected to attract strong interest from connoisseurs and collectors

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has introduced the latest aged expression in its Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask Series.

First launched late last year with Lotte Duty Free at Singapore Changi Airport, the Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask 24 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Finish (51.8% ABV) is now available at select travel retail locations. These include Avolta’s World Duty Free stores in the UK and key duty-free retailers in South Korea.

This Highland single malt embodies the distillery’s renowned tradition and whisky-making innovation.

The release is restricted to 396 bottles, making it a highly valued collectible for whisky enthusiasts.

Distilled in October 1999, the single malt underwent dual cask ageing, starting in a refill hogshead cask in its early years before being moved to an oloroso sherry cask in 2014, enriching its flavour profile.

The whisky reveals layers of oloroso spice, soft caramel and ripe cherries, while preserving Royal Brackla’s distinct character.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail Marketing Director Darragh Ryan said, “At Bacardi Global Travel Retail, we are driven to create extraordinary experiences for travelling whisky enthusiasts, and the Exceptional Cask Series represents the pinnacle of that commitment.

“The Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask 24 Year Old is a stunning example of how tradition and innovation can combine to create a truly unforgettable whisky. Its journey through time and cask tells a story that is as rich and complex as the liquid itself.”

Dubbed Scotland’s ‘King’s Own Whisky’, Royal Brackla is deeply rooted in Scotch whisky history. Founded by Captain William Fraser in 1817, the distillery earned its royal title through Fraser’s dedication to quality, securing the first-ever Royal Warrant for Scotch whisky from King William IV in 1835.

Despite Fraser’s colourful reputation, the quality of his whisky remained undisputed.

Over the years, Royal Brackla evolved from a key component in blended Scotch to a distinguished single malt, and remains central to the Exceptional Cask Series, valued for its quality and character.

Tasting Notes: Warm oloroso sherry spice leads to velvety caramel and succulent ripe cherries, balancing complexity with a smooth finish. ✈
