Delta’s frequent flier partnership with China Southern Airlines ends on August 10, 2025.

SkyMiles members can earn miles on China Southern until August 9, 2025. That is also the last date when SkyMiles members can issue awards on China Southern flights.

You can access Delta’s page for airline partners here.

Delta’s China Southern Notice:

Effective Sunday August 10, China Southern will no longer be a Delta Air Lines partner. Accrual on China Southern will follow the charts below through Saturday August 9, 2025. Redemption for Award Travel on China Southern must be ticketed on or before Saturday August 9, 2025, and must be flown within one (1) year of the ticketing date. All other frequent flyer benefits will be discontinued as of Sunday August 10, 2025.

Conclusion

China Southern was a SkyTeam member airline until January 1, 2019, and unlike most other alliance airlines, the partnership with Delta didn’t end on that date.

When China Southern exited SkyTeam, there was much chatter that it would eventually join Oneworld. There is no Oneworld alliance member on the mainland, but there is obviously one in Hong Kong (Cathay Pacific). Nothing has happened to date, however.

China Eastern and Xiamen, both SkyTeam members, continue to be Delta partners in China.
