Kneecap hit out at breaking of Gaza ceasefire: “Fuck Israel”

Kneecap have hit out at Israel for breaking the Gaza ceasefire in a “slaughter” against the “most vulnerable people on earth”.
On Tuesday (March 18), a wave of airstrikes by Israel shattered a two-month pause in hostilities, killing an estimated 592 people in the last three days alone, according to Gaza’s health ministry (via AP).
As noted by The Guardian, Thursday’s bombardment may mark one of the bloodiest days of the 18-month conflict, with the timings of the strikes seemingly increasing the number of women and children killed.
The band took to X/Twitter to condemn Israel for the ongoing atrocities, writing: “Last night US-backed Israel murdered almost 100 people as they slept. In Rafah they murdered a father and his 7 children as they sheltered in their partially destroyed home.
“FUCK ISRAEL.”
The most vulnerable people on earth, trapped with no electricity, food, access to their own sea or any means to escape are being bombed by the most powerful army in the region armed by most powerful military on earth.
There’s never been a war just a medieval type slaughter…

As noted by the band, the European hospital nearby Abasan al-Kabira reported that a strike on a family home had killed at least 16 people, mostly women and children. Among the dead the hospital received were a father and his seven children, and the parents and brother of a one-month-old baby who survive after being pulled from rubble.
Kneecap followed up with another post, writing: “The most vulnerable people on earth, trapped with no electricity, food, access to their own sea or any means to escape are being bombed by the most powerful army in the region armed by most powerful military on earth.
“There’s never been a war just a medieval type slaughter except with drones and fighter jets. And these c***s smile and talk about human rights…”
It comes after the ‘Better Way To Live’ artists slammed the Prime Minister of Ireland, calling Micheál Martin a “lick-arse” and “scumbag” after his recent visit to the White House to meet US President Donald Trump.
Martin had lauded Trump for his approach to Gaza and recent peace talks, despite Irish parties such as Sinn Fein recently announcing they would boycott St Patrick’s Day events in Washington DC this week. After Trump was asked about the boycott, Martin interjected “to pay tribute to the president on the peace initiatives” in Gaza and elsewhere.
Kneepcap members DJ Próvaí and Móglaí Bap, who have been vocal supporters of Palestine, expressed their anger following his comments.
“Sometimes you feel a bit powerless but that’s something we can do, we can put pressure on people like Micheál Martin who wants to go over to America and start licking arse just to get a few quid off Apple or whatever the fuck he’s doing,” Bap said in a recent interview. “I think just keep the pressure up and keep talking about Palestine is the best thing we can do at the moment.”
Back in January, when their film was left out of the Oscar nominations in January despite having been longlisted, the band responded by tweeting: “Fuck the Oscars. Free Palestine.”
Their response was in line with their reaction to the news of a ceasefire in Gaza on January 16, where they posted “we must not forget what Israel has done”.
In their their Cover feature for NME last year, they made their stance against what they call Israel’s “occupation and genocide” of Gaza clear. They also helped raise nearly £100,000 for a volunteer gym in the Aida Refugee Camp in Palestine, and loudly broadcast their message via social media and high-profile TV appearances.
