‘Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted’ in theaters now: watch an exclusive clip

After screening at festivals last year, documentary Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted is now officially out in theaters across the country. Directed by Isaac Gale and Gayngs’ Ryan Olson, the film is centered around the cult funk/soul musician Jerry Williams who has been known as Swamp Dogg since 1970:

Hidden away deep in suburban Los Angeles, Swamp Dogg, alongside housemates Moogstar and Guitar Shorty, has transformed his home into an artistic playground. Together, they navigate the tumultuous waves of the music industry, and forge a wonderfully bizarre and inspiring path across time and space. Amazing access to Swamp Dogg, along with incredible archival material, creates a fun, hilarious and unconventional film for a perfectly unconventional life.

Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted will open at NYC’s IFC Center on Friday, May 9 and there are special screenings on 5/9 at 7:05 PM and 5/10 at 7:05 PM featuring Q&As with Swamp Dogg and director Isaac Gale.
