While it racked up 66 million on their YouTube Channel, that was only a fraction of the audience for yesterday’s second trailer for Rockstar Games’ “Grand Theft Auto VI”.
The company tells THR that across platforms, the title received over 475 million views in its first 24 hours. The company claims that the trailer release is the biggest video launch of all time.
To put that in comparison, Marve’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” trailer debuted to 365 million views in its first 24 hours while “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” debuted to more than 200 million.
The company has also confirmed what was shown was captured entirely in-game running on a base PS5 and was a half-half mix of cut scenes and gameplay footage.
Streams of The Pointer Sisters song “Hot Together,” which featured in the trailer, have reportedly soared by 182,000% since its release.
Rockstar is believed to have spent north of $1 billion on development of GTA VI, costly but considering that GTA V has pulled in nearly $10 billion since its launch over a decade ago, it’s an understandable investment.
Check out some new clips from the game below. The title arrives a year from now on May 26th 2026.
