Prime Video’s violent superhero series, “The Boys,” may be ending with season five, but prequel series “Vought Rising” is just getting warmed up. Two new faces have joined the cast.
Deadline reports that “Euphoria” actor Elizabeth Posey has joined the cast, while Variety reveals Posey is joined by “Blue Bloods” actor Will Hochman.
“Vought Rising” will also star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who play Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The pair will also serve as producers on the upcoming series.
“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V,” said executive producer Eric Kripke and series showrunner and executive producer Paul Grellong when the series was announced last summer.
Stormfront was Frederick Vought’s first successful test subject for Compound V and served as one of the central antagonists in “The Boys” season 2. Soldier Boy was created by Frederick Vought during World War II, a central antagonist introduced in the series’ third season. Posey and Hochman’s roles in the spinoff series is undisclosed at this time.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr also executive produce. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
“Vought Rising” joins spinoff series “The Boys Presents: Diabolical” and “Gen V.” Previously announced spinoff series “The Boys: Mexico” is still on the way. It’s safe to assume this twisted world of superheroes will continue to expand.
You can catch up on all current seasons of “The Boys” as well as its spinoff series, now on Prime Video.
