The Killers have shared footage of their Madison Square Garden encore with Bruce Springsteen to celebrate the 2025 edition of Record Store Day. Check it out below.
The moment took place at the iconic New York arena back in October 2022, when Brandon Flowers and co. surprised fans at their MSG performance by bringing out Springsteen during the encore.
At the end of the night, Springsteen was welcomed on stage to perform the pair’s 2021 collaboration ‘Dustland’ as well as hits ‘Badlands’ and ‘Born To Run’. He was also joined by his bandmate Jake Clemons – the saxophonist nephew of the late and legendary E Street Band member Clarence Clemons.
Earlier this year, it was announced by The Killers that the encore performance would be made available to fans as part of Record Store Day 2025. It was titled ‘The Killers & Bruce Springsteen Encore At The Garden’, the 12″, and only 5,000 copies were made.
Now, the band have shared official footage from the moment on their YouTube page, which captures the moment Flowers introduces The Boss to the stage, as well as all three song performances.
“Everybody gets a little nervous when their boss shows up to work, right?” the frontman is seen asking the crowd at the start of the video. “I didn’t know if you noticed, but me and my friends have all been up here sweating bullets all night…Because the boss is here.”
After breaking out a rendition of classic track ‘Badlands’ together, Flowers is seen introducing their collaborative track ‘Dustland’ and asking the crowd to hold up the torch on their phones.
“This moment in the night is usually reserved for me to have people put their phones up and I tell us to think about where your light comes from. Can you do that for us tonight?,” he said.
“It is a very unusual circumstance for me tonight, because I get a lot of my light from you,” he added, talking directly to Springsteen. Check out the full video above, which also includes the performance of ‘Born To Run’.
The Killers shared news of the new release back in February, when they took to their social media pages. “Look who stepped up and captured something special,” the announcement read. “Now you can replay it on a record player as we do in our minds. Behold. Get your copy at participating indie record stores on Record Store Day 4/12.”

The collaboration at Madison Square Garden also came following the iconic American singer-songwriter sharing his praise of The Killers during a 2020 interview.
“That’s a hell of a band,” he said, speaking to Flowers. “Recently when I caught you, it may have been Glastonbury, the band was so good. You guys have developed such an incredible live show. Really something to be proud of.”
As for other RSD25 news, this year saw Sam Fender announced as the official ambassador of Record Store Day UK. He releases a new six-track 12-inch vinyl EP to celebrate, ‘Me And The Dog’, featuring two new songs.
In the US, Post Malone was announced as ambassador for this year. “What an honour, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025,” he said in a recent statement. “Record Store Day is so important and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive.”
