Forest Hills Stadium will “proceed as planned” with 2025 shows following reports of denied permit

Last month, there were reports that Forest Hills Stadium had been denied sound amplification permits and wouldn’t be able to move forward with its 2025 season. The venue said it would be holding shows as planned, and now they’ve posted a new statement confirming this year’s shows are still on, and that they’ll begin on May 31. It reads:

Previously, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards had said there were “racial undertones” to area residents’ complaints about crowds from the venue, specifically citing complains that stemmed from LL Cool J’s Rock the Bells festival. He added, “It was very apparent to me that maybe not everyone acknowledges or wants to see the sort of diversity that our borough is representative of.” He also wrote on Twitter/X earlier this year, “Just mad black people are in your community for concerts </div>
