Balance and Composure share standalone single ahead of tour with Turnover

Balance and Composure returned in 2024 with their excellent first album in eight years, With You In Spirit, and now they’ve shared another new song that was actually written before any of the songs on the new album. “This was the first song we worked on together when we decided to become a band again,” says vocalist/guitarist Jon Simmons. “It was an idea that Erik [Petersen, guitarist] had sent us in early talks of maybe reuniting and I sang over it almost immediately which began the entire process of writing a record.” It finds Balance putting a fresh spin on the kind of grungy post-hardcore banger that they’ve always done so well, and it instantly hits as hard as all the songs that did make the cut for the LP. Listen below.

Balance are also gearing up to open many of the dates on Turnover‘s Peripheral Vision 10th anniversary tour, and they also play a headlining Atlantic City show (on June 6) in the midst of that tour with support from Sainthood Reps.

Speaking of, we’ve also still got copies of our exclusive “candied avocado” vinyl variant of Turnover’s 10th anniversary edition of Peripheral Vision in the BV store, and singer/guitarist Austin Getz recently discussed the album on the BV podcast.
