Pet Symmetry (Into It. Over It., Ratboys) share “Big Engagement,” announce tour

Pet Symmetry, the Chicago emo/punk trio of Evan Weiss (Into It. Over It.), Marcus Nuccio (Ratboys), and Erik Czaja (Dowsing), have released a new single called “Big Engagement,” following 2024’s “Big Steve” and 2023’s “Big Island.” It’s the kind of catchy, sincere, indie-emo anthem that Evan has excelled at for years, and as the title implies, it was written about the moment that Evan proposed to his now-wife. He says:

Anyone who has ever proposed to a partner knows the weight, nervousness and anxiety surrounding the ask. It’s one of the most beautiful experiences any adult can experience. An out of body moment. This was a song Pet Symmetry wrote after a beautiful day together in an altered state. It felt appropriate to connect it with another out of body experience: Proposing to my (now) wife.

Pet Symmetry also announced a tour, including shows with Pony, Phony, M.A.G.S., Diners, and Jimmy Montague, varying by date. That includes NYC’s Brooklyn Made on May 14 with Pony and Jimmy Montague. Tickets are on sale now and all dates are listed below.
