Sudeikis: “Ted Lasso” Season 4 Is Happening

In August last year came the news that Warner Bros. Television had picked up the options on the three original cast members from Apple TV+ soccer comedy series hit “Ted Lasso” for a possible fourth season.

The three? Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Walton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins. However, a fourth season even happening all hinged on whether series star/co-creator Jason Sudeikis was keen on it.

The series previously finished airing in May 2023 with what seemed a fairly definitive ending, but the door was left open for more.

Months on, Sudeikis has himself confirmed a fourth season is in the works while appearing on the New Heights podcast (via TV Line).

The star, head writer and executive producer says they are currently in the process of writing the anticipated instalment right now and added: “That’s the official word.” Asked if he could give any hint of the story, he says: “Ted’s coaching a women’s team, so there, that’s it.”

The fourth season will add Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt (“Nobody Wants This,” “30 Rock”) as an executive producer. Sudeikis will continue to serve as an executive producer alongside fellow co-creators Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly, and Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein.

Separately it has also been reported that Juno Temple is also returning as Keeley Jones, but Phil Dunster is currently not set to return as Jamie Tart. Its also been indicated at least part of the first episode will take place in Kansas before returning to the UK.

Many of the other members of the cast have all indicated repeatedly that they would be happy to reprise their roles if an opportunity arises so expect more casting news for this soon.
