NEON has premiered the full-length trailer from “Midnight Mass,” “Gerald’s Game” and “Doctor Sleep” director Mike Flanagan’s new Stephen King film adaptation “The Life of Chuck”.
The film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, is described as a “life-affirming, genre-bending story about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.”
King’s novella unfolds in reverse chronological order and at three pivotal moments in the life of Krantz (played by Tom Hiddleston). It starts with his death from a brain tumor, and ends with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house. All tying into this are a number of natural disasters simultaneously occurring.
The film will reportedly feature an elaborate dance number performed by Hiddleston in which he had to learn jazz, swing, salsa, cha-cha, the Charleston, bossa nova, polka, quickstep, samba and moonwalking.
Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, Matthew Lillard, Mia Sara, Harvey Guillén, Kate Siegel, Carl Lumbly, and Rahul Kohli co-star.
The film hits select cities on June 6th followed by a wide release on June 13th.
