Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
The third season premiere of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” is tipped to launch at the very end of July going by an official response from the show’s Dutch broadcaster SkyShowtime on their official Facebook page.
That site indicated the new season will go online in the Netherlands on August 1st. Going by past airings, that is likely a day or two after the U.S. launch. Paramount+ has yet to release a trailer for the new run or confirm a date beyond sometime this year. [Source: TrekCulture]
Seven Sisters
“The Penguin” scene stealer and Emmy nominee Cristin Milioti has been cast in the FX drama pilot “Seven Sisters” alongside previously announced lead Elizabeth Olsen in the pilot. Olsen plays a young mother who begins hearing a mysterious voice, forcing her large family to confront long-buried secrets. Filming begins in May and Sean Durkin will direct and executive produce. I Will Find You
Britt Lower (“Severance”), Logan Browning (“Criminal”), Erin Richards (“Gotham”) and TV veteran Milo Ventimiglia will join the previously announced Sam Worthington in Netflix‘s next Harlan Coben event series adaptation “I Will Find You”.
Worthington plays an innocent father serving life in prison for the murder of his own son. Things are shaken up when he receives evidence that his child may still be alive — and must break out of prison to find out the truth. [Source: THR]
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place
A second season has been ordered for “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” the series continuation of the hit Disney Channel sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place” which starred Selena Gomez and David Henrie as magical siblings.
The story picks up more than a decade later, with Justin (Henrie) now raising a mortal family on Staten Island. His world is rocked when Alex (Gomez) shows up at his doorstep and asks him to train a young wizard named Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) who might prevent the apocalypse. [Source: TV Line]
Black Mirror
Netflix has released a new trailer for the seventh season of “Black Mirror,” this one going into details about each of the six episodes that make up the new run of Charlie Brooker’s Emmy-winning dystopian series.
The biggest reveal is that the sequel episode “USS Callister: Into Infinity” will be double-length (88 minutes). With Captain Daly dead, the crew are now stranded in an infinite virtual universe fighting for survival against 30 million players.
