As for moisturizer, it finds core members Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers flanked in the studio by Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums) and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth). “We focused on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together,” says Teasdale.
Wet Leg premiered several of the new songs last night (March 31) during a surprise show at Market Hotel in Brooklyn, N.Y., including album opener “CPR.” The group will support moisturizer with extensive international touring through August, plus an April 8 one-off in Los Angeles.
The new album follows Wet Leg’s self-titled 2022 debut, about which SPIN wrote, “as far as buzz band debuts go, Wet Leg is a sure winner; there’s tremendous joy to be found in its lack of self-seriousness and profane humor.” It won Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Performance honors at the 2023 Grammys.
