Fourteen lighting designers showcased at ICFF's Look Book 2025

Promotion: in this roundup we spotlight 14 lighting designers set to exhibit at the Look Book exhibition during this year's International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York.

International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) takes place at New York City's Javits Center from 18 to 20 May to offer brands a gateway to the US market.

Presented in partnership with Dezeen, the 2025 Look Book design exhibition will present a diverse selection of more than 60 North American designers and studios.

Among this year's participants are lighting designers including Anony, which will present its minimalist Pola range, and Ceramicism, which will exhibit its colourful Byte Lights.

Natan Moss will exhibit his lighting designs, decorative vessels, and sculptures at the event while INDO will display its ornate lighting fixtures.

Anony

These minimalist tubular lights are from the range Pola, designed by Toronto-based lighting design studio Anony, focusing on utilising local manufacturing capabilities.

The semicircular aluminium structures are designed to diffuse light softly and are available as sconces and pendants, as well as floor or table lamps.

Ceramicism

Kaleidoscopic patterns are cast by these lights handmade by Ceramicism, the studio of Brooklyn artist Dustin Barzell, which specialises in colourful and playful ceramic products.

Named Byte Lights, they are available in various sizes and intended as "a light show for your wall", according to the brand.

Natan Moss Design

Designer Natan Moss aims to make "beautiful things" that enhance the spaces they reside in.

He creates lighting designs, decorative vessels, sculptures and high-end furniture, which are influenced by Japanese, Scandinavian and Italian design.

Moss is based in San Diego and New Mexico and his practice reflects the teachings of his uncle, David Cuzick, a Californian studio potter.

Charles Grantham

Brooklyn-based designer Charles Grantham has an eclectic portfolio of products, throughout which wood is a common material.

At ICFF, he will showcase wall sconces made from various bent woods lined with warm-toned metals, offering "a classic and elegant profile" with a soft glow.

Tibo

Among the most sculptural lights on the list are those by Montreal-based studio Tibo, which is known for its "original and bold yet simple lighting fixtures".

This will include suspended pendants from Data, its collection of lights with a modular web-like structure that pays homage to the digital age. They are formed of brass and 3D-printed polymers.

Noiro Studio

Design brand Noiro Studio strives to create "handcrafted pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking".

At ICFF, it will exhibit its Cosmos lamps – its first-ever product range comprising table lights that emulate sculptures.

Finished in a range of colours, each piece is illuminated by an opal bulb for a softer and diffused light.

Olivia Barry By Hand

Olivia Barry By Hand is the eponymous brand of industrial designer Olivia Barry, who marries product innovation and art in her work.

This year's Look Book will present her sculptural ceramic wall lights that emulate curved pieces of paper.

Justin Bailey

Lighting and furniture designer Justin Bailey creates lightweight objects and lights with a focus on "gestural forms and surface manipulation".

Bailey's designs are influenced by "space age design" and he creates pieces that explore the tension between organic and digital forms.

His Polyp Lighting series – pictured above – explores "expanding organic volume in lighting" and references hanging fruits such as apples and pears.

H. Bigeleisen Design

Brooklyn brand H. Bigeleisen Design, led by designer Hannah Bigeleisen, is known for its playful use of colour, pattern and texture.

This is evident in its Etta (above) and Sadelle architecturally-informed sconces, which marry decorative fringing with blocky hardwoods for "timeless beauty".

Giulio D'Amore

Multi-media artist Giulio D'Amore's work centres around woodworking and lighting design. This gives rise to sculptural, curving light fixtures, hand-sculpted from layers of wood veneer.

"My primary inspiration is intersecting the interplay of light against the natural wood grain and random textures to create a visual spectacle," he said.

INDO

These ornate lighting fixtures are the work of INDO, a lighting and furniture design brand that celebrates its founders' Indian heritage in its work.

Among the designs on show at ICFF will be the Nath Sconce, which takes visual cues from Indian jewellery.

Nathan Chintala Design

Brooklyn-based designer Nathan Chintala creates handcrafted furniture and lighting that "blends timeless design with contemporary elegance".

Chintala presents a collection named Lines as part of Look Book 2025, which focuses on objects featuring straight lines and various shapes.

The collection is a bid to explore the balance between form and function, whilst showcasing how his lighting and furniture designs can be used in both residential and commercial spaces.

Erin Lorek

A striking mix of material, colour and shape define the lighting designs of multi-disciplinary designer Erin Lorek.

This includes the Shiny Bits collection of colourful wall sconces, which combines plaster, acrylic and metal leaf, and draws on the Beaux-Arts movement and the Mummers Parade – a folk parade in Philadelphia during which people wear bright and colourful costumes.

Streicher Goods

Among the products that Brooklyn studio Streicher Goods will be exhibiting are its checkered lamps.

These exemplify the brand's experiments in colour, shape and form through the use of handmade and hand-painted ceramics.
