Trailer For ‘Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld’ Ahead Of May The 4th Premiere

Lucasfilm Animation has just dropped the official trailer for its latest animated anthology series, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. Created by Star Wars visionary Dave Filoni, the series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on May 4, 2025—aligning perfectly with the franchise’s annual fan celebration, May the 4th.

Following the success of Tales of the Jedi (2022) and Tales of the Empire (2024), Tales of the Underworld shifts its focus to the dark and treacherous world of the Star Wars galaxy’s criminal elite. This time, the anthology highlights two of the franchise’s most notorious outlaws: Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane.

Ventress, a former Sith assassin and bounty hunter, finds herself with a rare second chance at life. However, her survival depends on going into hiding with an unlikely new ally. Meanwhile, the infamous gunslinger Cad Bane must confront his past when he comes face-to-face with an old acquaintance—now a Marshal enforcing the very laws Bane has spent his life defying.

Filoni, who has played an integral role in expanding the Star Wars animated universe, serves as the series’ creator and supervising director. He is joined by executive producers Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck, with Josh Rimes as co-executive producer. Alex Spotswood takes the helm as senior producer, while Matt Michnovetz handles writing duties.
