PlayStation Quietly Cancels Upcoming Event in Several Locations – Report

Sony has reportedly canceled an upcoming PlayStation event in several locations without a formal announcement. The PlayStation Concert live music event was announced last October and is due to kick off soon, but ticket holders in several countries have been told that the concert is no longer going ahead as planned.

We spotted several Reddit threads over the last couple of days, where players from Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Italy, and Austria reported that the event in their location has been canceled.

Some folks originally thought that the cancellation was an April Fools’ joke of some sort until similar reports trickled in from other countries. No further information was provided, so no one knows why the concert was canceled.

One player from Sweden noted that Sony’s partner in the country simply scrubbed any mention of the PlayStation Concert from its website. Another player from Ireland claimed that tickets sold poorly in the country and it’s likely that Ireland will join the list of cancellations soon.

Players are understandably unhappy, especially those who had booked days off from work, purchased plane tickets for travel, and booked hotel rooms. We’re sure people will be refunded, but it is an inconvenience nonetheless.
