The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PS5 Update 2.0.0 Is Busted

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered update 2.0.0 rolled out earlier today, and it broke players’ save data on the PS5. What was supposed to be a patch that made improvements to the game alongside adding new content and trophies turned out to be one that caused players to lose their progress, wiping their holsters and upgrades.

Our readers reached out to us to highlight the issue, and pointed us towards TLOU subreddit, which has been inundated with complaints. At the time of this writing, Naughty Dog has not issued a fix but has acknowledged the problem.

Unfortunately, there’s no workaround or temporary fix, so we advise our readers to wait for a hotfix or solution before applying the update. Those are are playing the campaign should either turn off automatic cloud updates or play offline.

“We are aware of and investigating a known issue regarding additional weapon holsters and purchased skills disappearing after updating to Patch 2.0.0,” Naughty Dog wrote. “At this time, we suggest players refrain from overwriting any of their existing manual saves.”
