The latest from director Paul W.S. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) is new movie In the Lost Lands, an adaptation of “Game of Thrones” creator George R.R. Martin’s short story. The movie heads to Digital next week after releasing in theaters last month.
In the Lost Lands will be available to rent or buy On Demand starting April 8.
In the film, “A Queen sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce, must outwit and outfight man and demon.”
Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista star as sorceress Gray Alys and drifter Boyce, respectively. Paul W.S. Anderson co-wrote the script with Constantin Werner.
On his personal blog last year, George R.R. Martin called director Paul W.S Anderson’s upcoming film adaptation of his story “dark and twisted and atmospheric, and a lot of fun.”
“In the Lost Lands was one of my earliest fantasies, first published in 1982 in the anthology AMAZONS II,” George R.R. Martin also notes in the same blog post for additional context.
A new clip has emerged ahead of the film’s Digital debut, which is available to preorder now, teasing the presence of werewolves with the emphasis on their biggest weakness: silver.
Producers include Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil), Anderson, Jovovich, Bautista, and Jonathan Meisner through their production company Dream Bros Entertainment and Werner.
