Here’s my The Wheel of Time S3E6 review and this one was emotional, good fun and sometimes creepy. I do have a bit of a book reader later gripe with this one, but overall it wasn’t enough to make me dislike anything in Episode 6. As always, this is a SPOILER FREE review. That’s both Episode 6 spoilers and book spoilers, so I’ll try to be careful.
The Hills of Tanchico
One of the storylines we follow more this week is the Tanchico plot. I really had a lot of fun with this one. I like the design of Tanchico, and there are some nice little funny moments with Matt and the girls. Plus a character returns I have been waiting to see for a while.
Get ready for some drunken shenanigans from the gang, and some singing, which I thought well done.
There’s also that really creepy moment I spoke about above. A brilliant, but definitely icky scene between Nyn, Elayne and one of our Forsaken. The Forsaken themselves I’ve always felt are better in the show than the books, Lanfear by a country mile. However, I also prefer Moghedien, Ishy and Rahvin from what we’ve seen so far. Well, maybe there is one Forsaken I feel less positive about in the show, but that would be spoilers.
Oh Rand
Now of course when it comes to Waste storyline, last week left us on a bit of a dramatic moment of realization from Egwene. That is dealt with between the pair this week, plus there’s a little more drama to add in to that mix. I do like how this was handled from both actors, coming at it from different perspectives.
I predicted something… emotional last week on The Dragon Reviewed and, yep I was right. I’ll simply say this was extremely well handled and I think was definitely used to replace a moment not covered from the books.

So about that Forsaken I’m not sure they handled better in the show…(spoilers), not so sure about how that played out. But hardly a blemish on the Episode itself for me. Also, there’s a lot being teased this week for books fans that might want to watch and listen very closely to some of Rand’s scenes. That’s all I’ll say here due to potential book spoilers.
Two Rivers and Grade
As for Perrin’s plot, slower paced this week and all set up for what is clearly going to ignite in Episode 7. I liked the slower pace as it allowed some of the character to just have some moments. However, I do have some serious raised eyebrows at something discussed between Perrin and Faile this week. I won’t get into it, but let’s just say it’s got many book fans scratching their heads rather than complaining.
There is a lot of set up in Episode 6 for the final two episodes. Yet, it remains fun, full of lots of little teases for book fans and has some serious emotional moments. Moments which I feel will help define our characters development going forward.
I’m giving the same grade as Episode 5,
GRADE: A
Fun, well paced, emotional and dramatic. I may question some decisions here long term though, but nothing too important to complain about, yet.
