Amazon MGM Studios has signed an expansive, multi-faceted deal with Dallas Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios, securing exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the globally acclaimed series The Chosen and its upcoming unscripted companion series The Chosen In The Wild with Bear Grylls.
As part of the agreement, The Chosen will stream exclusively on Prime Video in the U.S., with Season Five set for a theatrical debut on March 28 before premiering on the platform in June. Prime Video will later release the series in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, the UK, and Latin America.
Additionally, Amazon MGM Studios has acquired theatrical distribution and streaming rights for two new films exploring the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. These feature-length productions will serve as pivotal elements in the final two seasons of The Chosen, Seasons Six and Seven. The deal also includes a first-look agreement for future series and films from 5&2 Studios.

The Chosen, a historical drama about the life of Jesus and his followers, has garnered a dedicated global fanbase. The upcoming fifth season, which will premiere during Holy Week, is set to depict the dramatic events leading up to the crucifixion, including betrayals and political intrigue.
Meanwhile, The Chosen In The Wild with Bear Grylls will take viewers on a unique adventure, following the cast of The Chosen and Jenkins himself as they brave the wilderness with survival expert Bear Grylls. The six-episode unscripted series will explore the cast members’ personal and spiritual journeys, while pushing them to their physical limits.
Produced by 5&2 Studios in collaboration with The Natural Studios and Workerbee, the series is expected to resonate with both adventure enthusiasts and faith-based audiences. Grylls, a renowned adventurer and survivalist, is also an author of Christian bestsellers, including Soul Fuel and his forthcoming book The Greatest Story Ever Told.
The collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios marks a significant step in expanding faith-based content on mainstream platforms. With exclusive streaming rights, theatrical releases, and a first-look deal, this partnership is poised to elevate The Chosen franchise and bring its inspiring storytelling to an even wider audience.
