Destination TREATS 2027: Zurich Airport invites bids for space in major food hall development
Airport operator Flughafen Zürich has announced the development of an ambitious landside 2,000sq m, 1,000-seat food hall to be operated by Swiss company The Food Collective.

SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport operator Flughafen Zürich has announced the development of an ambitious landside 2,000sq m food hall named TREATS.
It will offer 1,000 seats and is scheduled to open in autumn 2027.
The food hall – set to become one of the largest in Switzerland – will be operated by Pointbreak Group-owned division The Food Collective. The company manages numerous creative gastronomic projects in Swiss towns and cities, including the renowned Freiruum in Zug.
The 12-metre-high TREATS food hall will cover two levels and offer a diverse selection of local and international food & beverage specialities.
Elements will include 16 food stalls, rotating food trucks, four bars and a café. Additional features include a stage for events and various outdoor terraces.
TREATS is billed as a central connecting point for the airport’s infrastructure. The new food hall is currently being built between the P1 and P2 parking garages on the bus station level.
It will connect various travel hub areas – from shopping to arrivals and departures to the train station, the Circle and the parking garages.
With a total of five entrances and exits, Flughafen Zürich said it will ensure seamless accessibility from various sides of the airport.
Bids invited
The application phase has commenced, with Flughafen Zürich noting culinary offerings will be carefully selected to ensure a wide variety of high-quality providers from both large and small F&B companies.
The airport operator said, “Thanks to the newly built, high-quality infrastructure, the investment for restaurateurs is very manageable. The well-equipped food stalls also offer smaller providers with limited capital the opportunity to become part of TREATS.”
Interested parties can apply via The Food Collective’s website here.
Zurich Airport Head Commercial Centers Heidi Köpple told The Moodie Davitt Report, “Announcing both the name as well as the operator of the TREATS food hall marks a major milestone for us.
“Our partner The Food Collective will curate the food hall, allowing small independent local heroes to bring the best of their food experience to the airport, enhancing the existing F&B choice for our passengers, shoppers and employees.”
Flughafen Zürich Chief Commercial Officer Stefan Gross commented, “At TREATS the focus will be on the joy of eating and togetherness – in line with the motto: Treat yourself.
“Thanks to Pointbreak’s experience in creating unforgettable experiences and events, TREATS will become a gastronomic attraction at Zurich Airport.”
TREATS will be a key feature in the comprehensive renovation of the Zurich Airport Shopping Center. The total investment in the upgrade amounts to approximately CHF250 million (US$290.3 million) and is being funded by Flughafen Zürich.
Over 100,000 people use the airport’s landside areas every day.
