IHG refreshed its guest loyalty program in 2022, including an updated name (IHG One Rewards), renaming the top tier from Spire Elite to Diamond, and launching Milestone Rewards.

There are several Milestone Rewards options, and we have covered their ins and outs ever since the launch, including the issues with F&B Rewards and Suite Upgrade Certs. There has now been an update on them.

Food & Beverage Rewards

Food and Beverage Rewards will now be issued in the following currencies, depending on where your account is based:

20 USD for the US and all countries than the one blow

UK = 15 GBP ($19.16)

Euro Zone = 15 EUR ($16.41)

China = 125 CNY ($17.10)

Japan = 2000 JPY ($13.62)

Saudi Arabia = 70 SAR ($18.65)

Canada = 25 CAD ($17.72)

Mexuco = 400 MXN ($19.41)

Australia = 30 AUD ($18.13)

Taiwan = 625 TWD ($18.95)

India = 1,500 INR ($17.39)

United Arab Emirates = 70 AED ($19.06)

South Korea = 20,000 KRW ($13.52)

Singapore = 25 SGD ($18.52)

Hong Kong = 150 HKD ($19.31)

Confirmable Suite Upgrade Certs

To the extent that Suite inventory is either limited or not available at a property, premium rooms will be offered, if available. Properties having neither suite nor premium room inventory will not be able to offer Confirmable Suite Upgrades.

There are several issues with these Suite Upgrades Certs, and you usually have to contact IHG several times to get them applied, but I do like them a lot.

If a hotel doesn’t have suites or premium rooms, you cannot apply them.

I advise choosing the Suite Upgrade Certs when available as a Milestone Rewards option and using them for stays at IHG’s luxury properties.

Just remember that having them applied is an issue by itself, and you often must contact IHG several times until you find someone competent who will simply pushes it through.

There are often similar issues with these F&B certs, but front desk agents can theoretically apply them also if they know how, and very few do. Just choose the bonus points so you don’t have this headache,

The F&B Rewards are worth 30% less for those with an account address in Japan and Korea and a bit less for those with an account elsewhere.
