Quick Thoughts
This offer appears to be targeted in a couple of ways. First, it seems like it’s only available for cardholders, but not all cardholders are targeted; at the time of publishing this, I’ve received an email but my wife hasn’t, despite both of us each having two or more Marriott credit cards. Something worth noting is that I have both personal and business Marriott cards, whereas my wife only has business Marriott cards, so perhaps only personal cardholders are targeted.
The other element of targeting is the discount level. I received an offer giving 15% off, but at least one person in the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group was lucky enough to be targeted for a 20% discount which is awesome.
Although the purchase is processed via a third party site, it is set up in a way that ensures you’ll earn bonus Marriott points on the purchase, so that should be 6x bonus points if paying with a Marriott credit card. Earning up to 6,000 bonus points while also saving 15% or 20% is a great deal if you anticipate having any paid Marriott stays in the future, or stays where you’ll have room charges like dining or spa treatments.
Note that targeted cardholders are receiving a unique code to enter when checking out in order to obtain the discount, so don’t forget to enter that.
