The first trailer has been released for the new David Mamet prison drama film “Henry Johnson” starring Shia LaBeouf.
The drama follows the title character (Evan Jonigkeit) as he navigates his search for a moral center after an act of compassion upends his life.
Looking to authority figures he encounters along the way – including his eventual cellmate, Gene (LaBeouf) – Henry’s journey leads him down a road of manipulation and ethical uncertainty.”
Mamet writes and directs the film, which is based on his own 2023 play of the same name. Jonigkeit and Lije Sarki produce.
Mamet is best known for writing the play “Glengarry Glen Ross” which became the famed 1992 movie which he penned the script for. Other script work includes films like “The Verdict” and “Wag the Dog”.
“Henry Johnson” will be released in cinemas on May 9th.
