Full Trailer: “Poker Face” Season 2

Peacock has unveiled the full trailer for the second season of its highly acclaimed and Emmy-winning 2023 dark comedy crime mystery series Poker Face, which stars Natasha Lyonne.

Filmmaker Rian Johnson’s mystery-of-the-week series stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a woman who has an innate ability to detect lies, and she encounters strange crimes and mysterious deaths that she can’t help but try to solve whilst also on the run.

Like “Columbo,” this isn’t a whodunnit as it’s made clear early on who is behind the murder – the joy is watching how Charlie figures it out. Visually the new season adopts a 1970s American New Wave cinema aesthetic, which can be seen in the trailer set to “Barracuda”.

The second season run clocks in at a longer twelve episodes and boasts an extensive guest list including Awkwafina, John Cho, Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Davionte ‘GaTa’ Ganter, Patti Harrison, Corey Hawkins, Gaby Hoffmann, Katie Holmes, Carol Kane, David Krumholtz, Melanie Lynskey, Margo Martindale, John Mulaney, Kumail Nanjiani, B.J. Novak, Ego Nwodim, Haley Joel Osment, Simon Rex, Sam Richardson, Jason Ritter, Alia Shawkat, Cliff ‘Method Man’ Smith and Justin Theroux.

Tony Tost takes over as showrunner for season two, replacing Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Johnson and Lyonne executive produce with both also serving as writers and directors on the new season.

Ram Bergman, Nena Rodriguez, Adam Arkin and the Zuckermans also executive produce. “Poker Face” returns on May 8th.
