According to some new Barside Buzz actress Greta Lee is wanted for a role in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie. This is the latest name to add to a small list we have so far for this potential cast. Already we’ve heard about talks for the lead role with Ryan Gosling, a villain role going to Jesse Plemons and that Jodie Comer may also be in talks for a role. Of course, since we have really no idea what this movie is about, we can’t speculate too much here. Sarah Snook is another name I’ve heard bandied about as rumored for the movie, but not from a source I trust.

Lee has has appeared in films like Past Lives and TV shows like The Morning Show alongside many others. Lee is 42 years old and this would mark the first time the American actress has appeared in a huge franchise if the rumor is legit.

The only rumor we have ever really had about the Shawn Levy movie was from Jeff Sneider. Sneider claimed that this was one of many films in development that would use the character of Rey Skywalker. For now though there appears to be no signs of Daisy Ridley joining the cast. It could be just a minor role though? The real next step for Rey is the still in development movie from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. That film currently has a new writer trying to get it production ready.
The other movies we’ve heard features Rey is the first of Simon Kinberg’s trilogy he is developing. For now though, it’s really too early to tell about anything related to Shawn Levy’s film. It may be next to film, but until that process starts, all we have is casting rumors without any story context.
