Next “28 Years Later” Trailer Launches Tomorrow

The second trailer for Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later” is set to launch tomorrow, with Sony Pictures having unveiled a countdown video to the new trailer launch.

In the nearly two-minute clip, glimpses of the trailer can be seen while much of it focuses on a bunch of red skulls rolling into the shape of biohazard sign that often forms part of the logo for this series.

The first trailer launched late last year and was a massive success, becoming the most watched horror trailer in 2024 at 60.2 million global views. It was also the second biggest horror trailer of all-time behind only “IT: Chapter Two” at 96 million views at launch.

The trailer also received much acclaim, so much so that the studio quickly moved the digital release of the original 2002 film “28 Days Later” forward to hit digital stores within days of that trailer release.

Alex Garland returns to pen the script for the new film, which stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell. It marks the first of a new trilogy of films in the series, each with a budget said to be in the range of $75 million.

Check back tomorrow at 3am US-ET, 12am US-PT and 5pm Australian time for the clip. The film itself opens June 20th this year.
