Marriott has brought back its usual once-a-year (often Black Friday/Cyber Monday) offer to purchase their gift cards at a discount, but this time to only cobranded cardholders who have been emailed a promotional one-use code.
Select Bonvoy cobranded cardholders can save 15% on a purchase of Marriott eGiftCards with a value of up to $1,000 ($850 purchase). The offer is valid through April 18, 2025.
You can access Marriott’s page for buying gift cards here.

Note that this offer is targeted and won’t work without the promotional code Marriott emailed to some Bonvoy members (check your email inbox and spam folders).
The gift card purchase codes as a Marriott purchase, at least for purchases paid using cobranded cards.
You can use these gift cards to settle balances at all Marriott-affiliated hotels. The employees, however, must be familiar with the gift card process, which can be a challenge at times, as we have previously covered:

You cannot use gift cards to prepay or guarantee stays.
I would stop by the front desk the night before you leave and let them know that you plan to pay for the stay using a gift card. They can then withdraw the payment from the card and post it to your folio.
These gift cards are issued in USD but can be used in most other currencies. The conversion from USD to other currencies is done using a real rate (read, not inflated) by Givex (the platform that Marriott uses to issue them).
Conclusion
These eGiftCards are a bit of a hassle, but I would buy the maximum if I had been targeted and issued one of these codes.
It is a great way to save 15% on your future Marriott stays. I wish the maximum amount would have been higher than $1K, but I guess we must wait for the next travel meltdown before we’ll see a 20% to 30% off sale with a higher ceiling (there were during the pandemic).
