Simu Liu Talks Being In The Dark Over His Role In Avengers: Doomsday

In a recent interview Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu talks about being kept in the dark about his Avengers: Doomsday role. Though Liu was announced alongside many names in that big cast reveal the actor also explains he didn’t know who else was in the film other than him until the names were revealed.

Although production has begin on the film, filming itself has not. Therefore, Liu was a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show recently and talk turned to Avengers: Doomsday.

Asked if there was anything Liu could reveal abut his role?

“No. You know what, we’re so excited to get to work and it’s obviously going to be such an amazing, big movie that’s going to be so secretive that I can’t talk about it at all.”

“What I will say is, I knew I was going to be involved in it to some capacity, but I didn’t know who else they were announcing. They don’t tell us anything. Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo ruined it for all of us. Now, they don’t tell us.”

“I saw when Sir Ian [McKellen] and Sir Patrick [Stewart] were announced. These are two of the greatest actors to have ever walked the face of the Earth. That blew my mind a little bit.”

It remains to be seen who else will join that cast and whether any other Shang-Chi actors will show up? We still await a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. However, there’s no way anything like that happens before we get past Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
