Actor Nicky Katt Dies At 54

Veteran actor Nicky Katt has died at the age of 54. Katt’s death was confirmed to TheWrap by his attorney John Sloss. No cause of death was given.

Katt began his career as a child actor in an episode of “Fantasy Island” before going on to film and TV work in “Gremlins,” “The ‘Burbs,” “CHiPs,” “Voyagers!” and “V”.

His adult breakthrough came with his memorable role of Texan toughie Clint Bruno in Richard Linklater’s “Dazed and Confused”. He’s also fondly remembered for his role as Harry Senate in several seasons of “Boston Public”.

The actor was liked by several directors who cast him in multiple projects including Steven Soderbergh, David Gordon Green and Christopher Nolan. Key roles included playing Hitler in “Full Frontal,” Greg Weinstein in “Boiler Room,” Stacy the Hitman in “The Limey,” troublemaker Tim in “subUrbia,” Stuka in “Sin City” and a vocal SWAT escort for Harvey Dent in “The Dark Knight”.

The man had an impressive resume with films that included “Strange Days,” “A Time to Kill,” “Insomnia,” “School of Rock,” “Phantoms,” “Batman & Robin,” “The Doom Generation,” “Americak Yakuza,” “Rules of Engagement,” “The Way of the Gun,” “World Trade Center,” “The Brave One,” “Death Proof, “Secondhand Lions,” “Snow Angels,” and “Behind the Candelabra”.

He also had plenty of TV credits with “Friends,” “The Guardian,” “Monk,” “Kindred: The Embraced,” and “Quincy M.E.” along with a role as Alton Rand in the video game “Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords “.
