Tom Holland Armors Up On “Odyssey” Set

More photos have emerged from the set of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” with the new shots putting the focus on “Spider-Man” star Tom Holland.
In the shots, Holland can be seen wearing a white cloak, bronze armor covering his chest, forearms and calves, a white skirt, gold headband and exposed shoulders/biceps.
Also in shots is actress Samantha Morton who is expected to be playing the role of Eurycleia, a loyal servant of Odysseus’ family who shares scenes with Holland’s Telemachus.
Both actors are at sea on a raft for the scenes they’re filming which look to be Eurycleia saying goodbye to Telemachus as he sets off on a voyage. In the story, Telemachus sets out to find his father who has been missing for many years after the Trojan War.
The set photos so far have drawn complaints for their lack of historical accuracy, even as this is a tale of gods, monsters and fantastical creatures. Though penned around 700BC by Homer, the story is set during the Bronze Age around 1200BC. It is said to anachronistically incorporate some elements of the subsequent Iron Age though.
The outfit marks a major change from the much darker and grimier outfit Holland was wearing a month ago while filming scenes, that outfit drew comparisons to Frodo Baggins.
Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Mia Goth, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Corey Hawkins, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, and Maurice Compte co-star in the film which is shooting in the UK, Sicily and Morocco.
Nolan’s “The Odyssey” is set to hit cinemas on July 17th 2026.
